Vintage VV60 (flying V)
I was going to get a VV60 in trans amber last month but I ended up buying a new amp instead. Does anyone have one of these beauties based on the Gibson Flying V?

Yup I have one !
Got it last year, great playing guitar for the money.I didn't like the pick ups to much as they where a little too vintage sounding so I have put in a 1983 jvb seymor duncan in the bridge and a hotslag in the neck ! Also swapped out the pots for 800s as well.

The nearest I've been to playing this is the Epiphone V. Sounded good but I didn't like sitting down with it. Looks killer though!

I've played a VV60. It's a lovely guitar with a great neck, but I also had problems with it while playing sat down. As you can see on the pic above, there's a kind of rubber grip to stop the guitar slipping off your lap, but it's still cumbersome and uncomfortable. Anyhow, I don't think these guitars were made to be played from a chair!
I was considering getting one in black, but now the Vintage XP is out, that might just have to take preference!

I have a DVD of Albert King playing his with SRV. He of course was a very large man, but he used a taller stool and kind of had it slung off his left hip. (right for right handers). The cool thing about him is that I could play his guitar. It was right handed also.
