Fitting P-90's to VR100WR Empty Fitting P-90's to VR100WR

I want a Les Paul with P-90's. I'm looking at the Vintage V100GT, but not sure if I like the gold. The pickup routs for a P-90 are supposed to be the same as for a mini humbucker, so how feasible is it to re-fit the V100WR with P-90's? Would the P-90's just drop in with no need for extra work? Expecting a few leftover screwholes, but that's not a problem. Grateful for comments.

The easiest option is find a Les Paul you like and replace one or both 'buckers with humbucker size P90s
They are a straight swap no rerouting drilling or filling....
Most good pup brands have a version
I have used these and they are great

Thanks for teh suggestion. I have tried bucker-sized P-90's. I had the Vintage VS6, and replaced the buckers with Seymour Duncan Phat Cats. Somehow, for me, they just didn't quite nail the P-90 sound the way a good set of soapbars do. This is why I'm keen to see if I can get away with the "pair of soapbars into a mini-bucker rout" idea.

I'd guess that it's do-able. I don't know how the relative depth of the mini 'buckers compares to a soapbar P90, so you may need to rout a bit deeper or you may not. the WR would look and sound good though, so it has to be worth it. I have heard that the minis aren't quite as impressive in the tone department as Trev's PAF type, so you wouldn't need to feel that you were spoiling the guitar. Do bear in mind that the Wilkinson soapbars are actually stacked humbuckers though... Unless there's a non-bucker one in the catalogue - it didn't seem all that clear the last time I looked.

Fitting P-90's to VR100WR Empty Wilkinson P90's

Just for your info, here are some model numbers for you:

The W90N, W90M and W90B are all single coil P90's. Faithful to the original design.

The W90SKN and the W90SKB are stacked humbuckers made to look like P90's.

Hope this helps.
