Neck/headstock repair

I recently obtained a guitar body with a missing headstock with the intention of making a new headstock to bring it back to life. After extensive research (google search) I suspect it is a Vintage guitar, and as such would like to bring it back to, as close as possible, original.
Any info, drawings, images, technical info much appreciated.
