Vintage VRS100 Empty Vintage VRS100

Post  Mike_So? Wed Oct 26, 2011 6:13 am

Hey all, my name is Mike and I own 3 Vintage guitars; two V100s (One Tobacco Sunburst and one Gloss black, both phenomenal and I trust them so much) I also recently acquired a Green VRS100 but have had nothing but problems with it, unfortunately. I don't know whether the neck is ruined or what, but it never stays in tune. No stringing method, or type of string, has made a difference.

It's a shame really because I'd love to be able to use it in a live situation, but it's just not reliable enough!

Did you buy the guitar new? If you did then maybe take it back to the shop if possible and explain the problems your having with the guitar.
If this isn't an option then take it to a good guitar tech and ask them to have a look at it for you, a good set up should help.

Vintage VRS100 Empty Guitar tech

I agree, if it's second hand take it to a technician. It could be any number of things; From a nut that needs attention to a warped neck. If they can fix the problem cheaply then it may be a good idea to ask them to give it a decent set-up too.

Hi There, I have both the VRS110 and the VRS 100. I find that the 110 (hardtail) is by far the most stable guitar I have ever played as far as tuning goes. The 100 does require more tuning simply as its a floating vibrato bridge, But it needs to be balanced correctly to return to pitch after hitting the whammy bar.
